In a startling discovery, authorities in east Delhi’s Shahdara uncovered a decomposed body at a construction site on Thursday. The body was buried beneath sand and gravel on the fourth floor of the building, police reported.
The grim find was prompted by a PCR call to the Shahdara police station on May 6, citing a foul odor emanating from the construction area in Naveen Shahdara. Upon arrival, police combed the site, eventually locating the remains of an unidentified male, believed to be between 35 and 40 years of age. Indications point to a possible murder scenario, with the body hidden to obliterate evidence.
To advance the investigation, a crime team, alongside forensic experts, was deployed to scrutinize the site and gather pertinent evidence. The body has been sent to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for postmortem analysis to establish the precise cause and timing of death. Meanwhile, police have filed an FIR and initiated a broader investigation, reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing local laborers, contractors, and nearby residents to find clues.
