An 11-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped during a village function Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya, police said on Saturday. Two men, in their mid-20s, have been detained in connection with the incident that occurred on Thursday, they said. According to a complaint filed by the victim's father, the girl had gone to a water counter outside the function venue around 8 pm when two unidentified individuals on a scooter kidnapped her at knifepoint. The accused allegedly took her to a deserted location outside the village where they took turns raping her, the police said. The victim was threatened with death if she raised an alarm. Following the assault, the perpetrators abandoned her near a canal and issued further death threats to ensure her silence. The girl returned home around 9.30 pm in a state of shock with visible physical injuries.
