From Software Engineer to Cyber Fraud Kingpin: The Million-Dollar Scam Unveiled

Ravi Rathore, a former software engineer, swapped his corporate career for cybercrime, orchestrating a multimillion-dollar scam through a fake online trading platform. He, along with associates Sudama and Vikash Rathod, lured investors with false promises of high returns, cheating them out of approximately Rs 100 crore before police intervention.

A 31-year-old software engineer named Ravi Rathore, previously earning approximately Rs 30 lakh annually, traded his promising career for cybercrime, as revealed by Delhi Police on Monday.

Rathore was apprehended alongside two accomplices following a vast interstate operation involving a fake online trading syndicate that reportedly defrauded hundreds of investors out of nearly Rs 100 crore.

The trio lured victims using a counterfeit mobile app and website, falsely assuring hefty guaranteed returns, but was ultimately busted after a vigilant citizen reported the scam, leading to a comprehensive investigation and the arrest of the perpetrators in Bengaluru and Madhya Pradesh.
