In a significant judicial decision, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court fined a litigant Rs 1 lakh for suppressing material facts in her petition. This order, issued by Justice Brij Raj Singh, dismissed the plea filed by Chandrama Devi Agrahari.
During the hearing, it was revealed that Agrahari had already filed a criminal revision against an additional chief judicial magistrate's summoning order in Sultanpur, a crucial detail omitted in her high court plea.
The court took a stern view of this concealment, mandating that Rs 30,000 of the fine be paid to the complainant and the remaining Rs 70,000 be deposited with the State Legal Services Authority.
