In a significant development, British hedge fund magnate Crispin Odey has reached a settlement over sexual assault charges filed by five women, just one month prior to the scheduled High Court proceedings in London, as confirmed by the claimants' legal representatives on Thursday.

Despite public interest, both Odey and his legal team have not provided any commentary on the financial details of the settlement. Odey, who gained fame during the 2008 credit crisis through short-selling bank shares, is also known for his fervent support of Brexit and contributions to the Conservative Party.

The allegations span a period from 1995 to 2021, involving incidents at Odey's residences and workplace. Despite being acquitted in a previous trial, the financial sector veteran is also contesting a regulatory decision by the FCA, which imposes a significant fine and seeks to bar him from the financial sector for alleged misconduct involving female colleagues.
