The West Bengal Assembly is set to broadcast its proceedings live, as announced by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. This initiative aims to ensure transparency and keep the public informed about legislative activities.
In his address to the newly formed 18th Assembly, following the Speaker election, Adhikari emphasized the critical role of the House in meeting public expectations, underscoring the importance of operating within the principles of the Constitution and established parliamentary rules.
Notably, BJP MLA Rathindra Bose was elected unopposed as the Speaker, marking the first time a legislator from northern West Bengal has held the position. The Chief Minister also highlighted the need for a strong opposition to facilitate a balanced and effective legislative process.
