Celebrating five decades of service, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has been praised by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for its crucial role in resource management. Addressing an event in Panchkula, Khattar highlighted BBMB's significant contributions to socio-economic and regional development.
Khattar emphasized future strategies, including the integration of solar plants, installation of pumped storage plants, and battery storage solutions. He affirmed the board's commitment to addressing the rising power demands of partner states Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
Challenges concerning the BBMB's staffing policies were raised by Punjab Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal, spotlighting changes in CISF deployment and revised eligibility criteria for key board positions. Despite political furor, the board's dedication to public welfare remains a focal point.
