Taiwan's government appreciates U.S. President Donald Trump's ongoing support for peace and stability around the Taiwan Strait. According to President Lai Ching-te's spokesperson, arms sales between Taiwan and the United States embody the U.S. security commitment and act as a shared deterrent against regional threats as outlined in the Taiwan Relations Act.

Taiwan has expressed gratitude for U.S. President Donald Trump's enduring support for maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, a spokesperson for President Lai Ching-te announced on Saturday.

In a statement, spokesperson Karen Kuo emphasized that arms sales between Taiwan and the United States represent a significant component of the U.S. security commitment to Taiwan, as delineated in the Taiwan Relations Act.

Kuo also noted that these arms sales function as a mutual deterrent against potential regional threats, underscoring the strategic partnership between the two nations.
