Rohit Pawar, leader of the NCP (SP), expressed strong disapproval on Saturday regarding the comments made by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant. CJI Kant's comparison of unemployed youth to 'parasites' and 'cockroaches' was labeled 'unacceptable' by Pawar, who described it as a reflection of growing intolerance towards criticism and questioning.
Pawar, representing the constituency of Karjat Jamkhed, emphasized his respect for the judiciary while condemning the hurtful nature of such remarks. He pointed out that the comments appeared to mock a generation already struggling with unfulfilled promises, limited opportunities, and the increasing challenge of unemployment.
Calling for sensitivity and restraint, Pawar urged the judicial system to recognize the reality faced by today's youth, who are not unemployed by choice but due to economic failures. He critiqued the use of derogatory language, reinforcing the need for institutional accountability.
