Lawyers Clash with Lucknow Municipal Corporation Over Demolition

Lawyers in Lucknow protested against the demolition of their chambers by the Municipal Corporation, leading to police intervention. A confrontation erupted in Lucknow as the Municipal Corporation began demolishing alleged illegal chambers used by lawyers. The protest led to police using mild force to disperse the demonstrators, following a directive from the Allahabad High Court aimed at clearing encroachments around the court area.

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav vehemently criticized the municipal actions and police response, labelling it as an act of 'injustice'. He emphasized solidarity among advocates in the face of what he described as politically motivated actions, expressing concern over the treatment of the legal fraternity.

Yadav warned against the selective targeting of structures by officials and called for the legal community to rally by examining and challenging the legality of properties linked to political figures from the BJP. He demanded compensation and medical attention for those injured in the police action.
