The death of a 34-year-old man in Rani Bagh has highlighted potential safety risks associated with hazardous substances. On Sunday, during routine patrols near the Ramada Hotel, Head Constable Rambir and Constable Amar reported finding the man heavily intoxicated.
Despite swift police action in bringing him to Rani Bagh Police Station, the man admitted to consuming a lethal pesticide. He was immediately sent to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital in Pitampura, where doctors could not save him. He was identified as Brijkesh Dutt Mishra, a resident from nearby Rohini Sector-4.
A police inquiry is underway, and initial findings suggest that the poison was delivered to the man's home via courier. Forensic teams have gathered evidence from the scene, including pesticide sachets and other items. The post-mortem is scheduled, and further investigation continues.
