A tigress that killed four women in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district has been captured following a sustained operation by the forest department, an official said on Sunday.
The four women were killed on May 22 in compartment 1836 of the forest near Gunjewahi village in Sindewahi tehsil, nearly 70 km from the district headquarters.

''The tiger was darted after a special rescue team carried out intensive combing operations in the area. On-site verification confirmed it was tigress T-2, which was responsible for the deaths of the four women. The big cat was fully secured by 8pm,'' the official said.
No cubs were found in the vicinity and a separate monitoring operation would be carried out to get more details about them, he said.
