The Telangana government has assured farmers of continued support for paddy procurement despite disruptions caused by unseasonal rain. This was confirmed by N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who stated there is no cause for panic regarding rain-affected crops.
During a video conference with officials, Reddy explained that an intensive emergency response has been implemented to address the situation effectively. The state has monitored procurement activities closely, setting targets for each district. Although many areas are performing well, some experienced rain-drenched paddy, prompting swift government intervention.
It was reported that so far, the state has recorded arrivals of 66.75 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, with 57 lakh metric tonnes already procured. Additionally, to ensure financial support, Rs 10,096 crore has been disbursed to over 8.14 lakh farmers as their due minimum support price.
