Jaishankar and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Address Russia-Ukraine Conflict at EU Forum

Indian and Ukrainian foreign ministers deliberated on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, pushing for a lasting peace at the Gymnich Forum in Cyprus. The meeting underscored Ukraine’s resilience amidst ongoing hostilities and sought India’s input for broader international engagement on peace efforts and bilateral cooperation.

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar engaged in talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha regarding the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The discussions, held at the Gymnich Forum in Cyprus, emphasized the necessity of establishing a comprehensive peace in light of recent battlefield developments.

The Gymnich Forum is an informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers, offering a platform for addressing significant geopolitical and strategic issues. The two sides shared perspectives on the conflict, with Sybiha highlighting Ukraine's resilience against Russian aggression, including recent attacks on Kyiv. India's role in contributing to global peace efforts was also underlined.

Jaishankar conveyed India's consistent stance advocating for diplomacy as a means to resolve the conflict. The dialogue also explored enhancing bilateral relations and maintaining a continuous exchange on mutual interests.
