A court in Delhi has released six individuals on bail, who are accused in a case of alleged financial misconduct related to a government initiative. The court cited the principle that bail should be the norm unless there are exceptional circumstances for denial.

The scam, which surfaced in 2025, involves accusations of large-scale financial irregularities by coaching institutes that were meant to receive funds under the Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana during the 2018-2019 period. Initial arrests included nine individuals connected to these institutes, accused of unjustly gaining from the alleged Rs 37.20-crore fraud.

Judge Ruchi Aggarwal Asrani remarked in the bail orders that the accused had been detained for 26 days and were not needed further for the investigation, thus continuing to hold them would be unjust. They were released upon posting a Rs 1 lakh bail and surety bond each, along with conditions like staying in the country and attending their trial dates.
