Innovative health company Kiora Care has unveiled Ren-IQ, an advanced diagnostic test aimed at early detection of kidney disease. This new test promises to identify kidney conditions earlier than traditional exams, thus allowing for timely intervention and improved management.

Following its introduction in Hyderabad, Kiora Care plans to expand its diagnostic services to Mumbai and subsequently other cities. Ren-IQ utilizes Cystatin C as its core biomarker. This protein, produced consistently by nearly every cell, provides a precise assessment of kidney function across South Asian populations, unaffected by body composition.

Kiora Care aims to pinpoint high-risk patients early, utilizing technology-enabled care pathways for prevention, monitoring, and management of kidney diseases. "The primary challenge in nephrology is the silent progression of kidney disease, often manifesting symptoms only after substantial damage," explained Kiora's co-founder and chief medical officer, K S Nayak.

With the introduction of Ren-IQ, Kiora is embracing a data-driven approach to kidney health management, as stated by co-founder Anupam Dey. This system supports a long-term healthcare model centered around prevention and effective treatment practices.
