221 kg of Cannabis Seized, Three Arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh

In a significant drug crackdown, law enforcement in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, successfully confiscated over 221 kg of cannabis during a recent operation. Authorities apprehended three individuals suspected of trafficking the illicit substance, which was cleverly concealed within a truck.
The operation, known as 'Operation Prahar', targeted narco-trafficking routes in the region. Deepak Bhuker, the superintendent of police, confirmed the cannabis was found hidden across seven sacks inside the vehicle near the Pakdi border barrier under the jurisdiction of the Fatanpur police station. The accused, identified as residents of Pratapgarh, allegedly sourced the cannabis from Odisha and concealed it among other cargo for distribution. A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, with the suspects now in custody.
