A court in Delhi has granted bail to Abu Talib, who faced charges for allegedly possessing illegal arms and ammunition. The court deemed further detention unnecessary as the investigation has concluded.
Judge Charu Aggarwal, while addressing the bail request, stated that there was no purpose to continue Talib's incarceration since the investigation concerning him was finalized. A raid in Shahdara, led by police acting on a tip, initially resulted in the discovery of firearms and ammunition at Talib's residence.
The prosecution argued the bail should not be granted due to ongoing investigations into an associate named Monty and Talib's involvement in other criminal cases. Talib's defense countered these claims, asserting his innocence and citing previous cases where he was noted as a victim.
The court, after considering all aspects, ordered Talib to provide a personal bond of Rs 25,000, and to maintain regular appearances in court while avoiding contact with any prosecution witnesses.
