Indian Student's Death in Canada Under Investigation

An Indian student, Vidhi Megha, aged 23, has tragically been found dead in a residence within the Niagara Region of Canada earlier this month. Megha was in Canada on a student visa when the incident occurred.
The Indian Consulate in Toronto expressed profound sadness over the incident, stating, “We convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved family.” The consulate is actively liaising with the family both in India and Canada, offering comprehensive support, including arrangements for repatriating Megha’s remains.
Authorities responded to the location at Lakeshore Road and Lake Street on May 15 after receiving reports of two individuals showing no signs of life. Upon investigation, officers discovered Megha’s body within the premises.
Subsequent reports by CTV News have revealed that 40-year-old Joshua St. Omer from St. Catharines has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the case. The cause of Megha's death, however, remains undisclosed by the police.
