In the concluding phase of Himachal Pradesh's panchayat elections, women voters took center stage, outnumbering male voters in nine of the state's twelve districts. Amid challenging weather conditions, the overall voter turnout surpassed 80 percent, highlighting robust civic engagement in these grassroots polls.

Union Minister JP Nadda, who cast his vote in Bilaspur district, lauded the democratic spirit and underlined the importance of citizen participation. He emphasized that gram panchayats are crucial to India's democratic framework and rural development. Official data shows Sirmaur district recorded the highest turnout at 85.44 percent, while Lahaul and Spiti had the lowest at 71.05 percent.

The elections saw 15.4 lakh eligible voters participating, with results expected soon. Nadda urged citizens to exercise their voting rights, asserting that active participation is vital for effective leadership at the grassroots level.
