Fire-related tragedies have claimed 45 lives in Delhi this year, according to recent data from Delhi Fire Services (DFS). The number, spanning from January to May, highlights March as the deadliest month with 15 fatalities.
The number of emergency fire calls drastically increased during these months, coinciding with rising temperatures and dry weather. May, although seeing fewer deaths than March, recorded an alarming number of fire incidents. The substantial rise in garbage fires continues to demand significant resources and response efforts from fire services.
