New Mexico legislators have ramped up their investigation into the late Jeffrey Epstein's activities by issuing subpoenas for evidence from 14 entities. These include federal law enforcement agencies, the state governor's office, and a Santa Fe scientific institute.

In its second meeting since its formation earlier this year, the New Mexico Truth Commission also listened to testimonies from survivors of Epstein's alleged abuses, including Rachel Benavidez and family members of Virginia Giuffre. This initiative follows the Justice Department's disclosure of extensive Epstein-related files.

State Representative Andrea Reeb highlighted the need for comprehensive information before summoning individuals such as former top officials. Representative Andrea Romero announced that organizations subpoenaed include Deutsche Bank, the FBI, and local New Mexico government bodies, as part of this bipartisan effort to uncover potential institutional failures.
