Switzerland is ramping up security measures with the deployment of approximately 4,000 troops during the approaching G7 summit in neighboring France, scheduled for mid-June. This extensive security operation will coincide with the assembly of world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, in Evian-les-Bains.

Given the summit's proximity to the Swiss border, local security faces a significant challenge, prompting the Federal Council and Parliament to authorize military involvement. Troops are tasked with safeguarding critical infrastructure, enhancing border oversight, and overseeing key transport routes along with Lake Geneva.

In preparation, Switzerland’s air force is intensifying air policing operations, enforcing airspace restrictions from June 10 to June 19. Additionally, the air force will deploy counter-drone technologies and preparedness against nuclear, biological, and chemical threats to ensure the safety of all involved.
