More than 6,000 young people from across India gathered in New Delhi on Saturday for the "Youth for Viksit Bharat: MY Bharat Youth Convention", a large-scale event that celebrated the role of youth in shaping the country's future and advancing the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Hosted at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, the convention brought together students, entrepreneurs, professionals, innovators, content creators, volunteers and emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds, creating a platform for inspiration, learning and national engagement.

Leaders Highlight Youth as India's Greatest Strength

Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of young people in driving India's growth and transformation.

Dr Mandaviya described the country's youth population as its biggest advantage, noting that nearly 65% of Indians are under the age of 35. He said young people are already making their mark in fields such as entrepreneurship, sports, innovation, public service and the creative economy, helping strengthen India's position on the global stage.

The minister encouraged participants to take advantage of opportunities available through the MY Bharat platform, which aims to connect young people with volunteer programmes, leadership initiatives and nation-building activities.

He also praised the platform's recent Guinness World Record achievement and urged youth to channel their energy and talent towards creating a stronger and more self-reliant nation.

Influential Voices Share Success Stories

The convention featured interactions with several well-known personalities who shared their personal journeys and lessons with the audience.

Actor Vikrant Massey spoke about the rapid growth of India's creator economy and the opportunities emerging from digital innovation. Entrepreneur Aman Gupta discussed the country's startup ecosystem and highlighted efforts to position India as a global hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. Singer and MLA Maithili Thakur, along with Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma, also engaged with participants, encouraging them to pursue their goals with dedication and confidence.

Jitesh Sharma shared his experiences as a professional athlete and spoke about the importance of discipline, perseverance and representing the country with pride. His message resonated strongly with aspiring sportspersons attending the event.

Youth Pledge Support for Viksit Bharat Vision

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised the determination and creativity of India's youth, describing them as the driving force behind the country's future progress. She said every achievement by a young Indian contributes to the larger national goal of building a developed and prosperous India. The event also recognised sporting excellence, with distinguished athletes being honoured for their achievements and contributions to Indian sports.

Youth Affairs Secretary Pallavi Jain Govil addressed participants and reaffirmed the government's commitment to empowering young leaders and expanding opportunities for meaningful youth participation in national development. The convention concluded with the Viksit Bharat Sankalp, a collective pledge by participants to contribute actively towards building a developed, inclusive and self-reliant India by 2047, when the country marks 100 years of Independence.

The gathering reflected the growing emphasis on youth-led development and the belief that India's future will be shaped by the ideas, innovation and determination of its younger generation.
