Surat: Artists make rangoli to pay tribute to Indian Air Force
In a bid to pay tribute to the Indian Air Force (IAF), in the wake of February 26 air strike, six artists made a vibrant rangoli at a shopping mall here on Wednesday. "To show the support to our brothers who fight for us while we sleep in peace, we have made these colourful pictures,"said an artist, Ashwin Jahriwala.
Lauding Abhinandan Varthaman who was held under captivity in Pakistan after his aircraft was shot down in an aerial dogfight, he added: "Abhinandan is a real-life hero and I'm glad that I'm able to convey his heroic deeds to the world in a colourful way." 17 pictures were drawn by the artists showcasing representation of the IAF aircraft and national flag, including a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Abhinandan Varthaman and Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa.
