AINRC chief hits out at Pondy CM on statehood issue

Former Chief Minister andfounder of AINRC N Rangasamy Tuesday hit out at the Congressgovernment headed by V Narayanasamy on the issue of statehoodfor Puducherry

"It is amusing that Narayanasamy now feigns to bechampion of statehood for Puducherry although he could haveprocured the status when he was Central Minister in theprevious UPA government," Rangasamy said while campaigning forAINRC Lok Sabha nominee K Narayanasamy here

Rangasamy alleged that V Narayanasamy had putobstacles to all steps taken by him to persuade the Centre togrant statehood for Puducherry.
