BJP general secretary P Muralidhar Rao Thursday said only BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can provide a stable government in the country and take on the challenges from terrorists and separatists. He dismissed the proposed alliance of opposition parties at the national level.

"Therefore, when meetings are held in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata,... not just one Prime Minister on behalf of the opposition, 15 Prime Ministers....," Rao said. If such is the situation, there would be a different prime minister on each day of the week, he said sarcastically. "Can this country accept 50 Prime Ministers in five years," he asked. Only Modi can provide a stable and efficient government which is development-oriented, Rao said, addressing an election meeting here.

"Today, who can face Pakistan, communal politics, betrayers of the nation, terrorists, separatists are only BJP, only Narendra Modiji," he said. Attacking Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on his plans to form a non-Congress, non-BJP federal front and play a key role at the Centre, the BJP leader said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president had gone to Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and other cities. "The reality is that the federal front is not in existence, as also the grand alliance (of opposition parties)," Rao said.

BJP president Amit Shah, who was scheduled to attend the meeting, could not do so due to an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on party's manifesto, Rao said. The Prime Minister, Amit Shah and other leaders held an emergency meeting this morning and discussed manifesto and other issues, he said. Due to delay there, Shah could not come, he said.

Rao said he took a word from Shah that he would attend the party's victory rally after the elections. Attacking Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao over his comments that he is a true Hindu, state BJP president K Laxman asked how can Rao be a true Hindu when he allegedly did not have the time to console the injured and families when over 60 devotees of a famous Hanuman temple died in a bus accident in the State last year.

"Hindu religion preaches 'Sarva Dharma Sama Bhava' and Rao is trying to get minority votes," he said.
