City-based IT firm Cyient Ltd Monday signed a tripartite agreement with the Telangana government and Telangana State Aviation Academy (TSAA) to develop and conduct remote pilot (drone pilot) training and certification programs. Under the pact, Cyient would provide the training tools while the TSAA would provide the training service and infrastructure to conduct the programs, a press release said.
The courses for the training were aimed at developing a pool of skilled drone pilots equipped to meet industry needs, the release said. Cyient and TSAA would work towards setting up a drone pilot training infrastructure at TSAA, which included a variety of rotatory and fixed-wing drones along with simulators to train pilots, it said.
The participants would be awarded a DGCA authorised remote pilot licence or certification upon successful clearance of a test at the end of the course. Principal secretary (Industries and Commerce, IT, Electronics and Communications) Jayesh Ranjan said in the release that the partnership was an exciting step in imparting emerging skills with tremendous potential to shape the future of the youth.
The government has been at the forefront of using the latest technologies for civic and social purpose and has been collaborating with the industry to implement newer solutions, the release quoted him as saying.
