Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) MLA Pradip Yadav was questioned by the police here on Thursday in connection with a sexual harassment case filed by a woman leader of the party, a police officer said. Deoghar, Sub-divisional Police Officer, Vikas Chandra Srivastav said that Yadav recorded his statement before him and Cyber station Inspector Sangita Kumari in connection with the case.
The JVM woman leader had in April filed an FIR with the women's police station accusing Yadav of sexual harassment in Deoghar during Lok Sabha elections. Yadav contested the Godda seat and Deoghar is an Assembly segment of the Lok Sabha constituency. The Deoghar police are investigating the matter and called Yadav for questioning. Yadav has filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Deoghar court. The petition is likely to come up for hearing on June 17. Yadav has already resigned from the post of party's principal general secretary on the instruction of party chief Babulal Marandi.
