Kolkata's tallest building The 42 caught fire on Saturday (November 17) evening. Three fire tenders immediately rushed to the venue and managed the situation, so far no casualty is being reported.

Located at the Chowringhee Road, the tallest structure, also an under-constructed skyscraper, is easily visible from a large distance. The exact cause of this incident is yet to be investigated. The 879 ft structure accommodates 63 floors and is considered one of the tallest buildings in India.

According to director general of fire and emergency services, JagMohan, the fire spread from the nets but it has already been taken under control after 6 pm. There is a probability that sparks from the welding work (was going on at the under-constructed building) might have triggered the blaze.

"I looked up and saw safety nets strung outside the floors up in flames," one security guard on duty said to a TV channel.
