The National Police has seized one tone of medicines illegally traded in unauthorised sites, as part of ongoing crackdown on illegal activity dubbed ‘Operation Rescue’ in central Bié province of Angola.

The information was released by director of Press Office of the Home Ministry, inspector-chief José Daniel Capingãla.

Speaking to a press conference on November 30 in the province’s capital, Kuito (or Cuito), the source revealed that the operation targeted unofficial markets and unauthorised sites considered inappropriate for the sale drugs.

At least 30 illegal drugstores have been shut down until August this year, of the 76 controlled by the local health department.
