Zambians to experience Lusaka Mass Transit Train soon! The current transport minister of Zambia, Brian Mushimba has disclosed that the feasibility studies and engineering designs for the construction of the Lusaka Mass Transit Train have been completed.

Brian Mushimba opined that the government of Zambia is currently moving to the next step of picking the best financial options for the project. He took to Twitter to augment the inspiration of Zambians by sharing the photograph that how Lusaka Mass Transit Train would look once it completed.

“We signed an MOU on this project in China recently. The engineering and detailed designs have concluded. Processing the paperwork to source funding for it. We are looking at different funding mechanisms with the ministry of finance,” Brian Mushimba opined, as reported by Lusaka Times.

According to him, the project’s idea is to have the people ride the train into Lusaka CBD than utilize their own vehicles. The roads will be decongested and result in ease flow of traffic and services. He said that the train would operate above the ground.

“We shall share additional info at the right time. All I wanted to share today is that there is such a project and engineering has been completed. It’s good to have a healthy dose of scepticism. But people doubted that we were launching Zambia Airways. We kept asking them to believe because the domino effect of having an airline is massive. We are flying in 2019,” the minister said.
