Ministry of Panchayati Raj holds seminar on Yoga and Yoga practice program

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj organized a seminar on Yoga and Yoga practice program in the Premises of Jeevan Prakash Building in New Delhi today, on the occasion of International Day of Yoga. The Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Singh, Additional Secretary said on this occasion that Yoga is a 5,000-year-old tradition of India that combines physical, mental and spiritual activities to achieve the harmony of body and mind. Yoga is a medium associated with happiness in our social, economic, family and daily lives.

Earlier, the key speaker in the seminar, Smt. Sujata Sharma, Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Panchayat Raj highlighted the importance of yoga in bringing happiness in daily life. She said that the Indian yoga methodology has been accepted worldwide by the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and crores of people are bringing happiness to their lives by this Indian Science.

The Specialist on Yoga from an NGO, Art of Living, Smt Savitri Jangid and Shri Manoj Grover gave training of Yoga postures to the officers and employees of the Ministry, and also provided training in Pranayam.

The program was conducted by the Under Secretary Shri Subhash Sangwan. Mr Sangwan said in his statement that we must follow Yoga in our own daily life. Finally, Deputy Secretary, Vijay Kumar, thanked all the participants from the Ministry and Yoga experts from the Art of Living.
