Daniel Lewis Foote, the American diplomat, who serves as the US Ambassador to Zambia, has expressed regret due to the scarcity of enough geological information on the South African country's mineral resources. According to him, the investors in the US want to penetrate the Zambian mining sector, but the current hindrance is the lack of geological information on Zambia's mineral deposits.

Daniel Lewis Foote said that Zambia is filled with plenty of natural resources, but due to the above-mentioned lack of information, the country requires huge capital investment in the mining sector. He was speaking when he called on Mines Minister Richard Musukwa and his Permanent Secretary Paul Chanda, as reported by Lusaka Times.

According to the American diplomat, the advanced aerial geological data has turned into a game changer in Zambia's mining industry, but this can only be achieved through access to current geological information. He further inquired from the Zambian Minister Richard Musukwa whether or not there lies further options for the global investors in the sector.

On the other hand, the Minister also invited other nations to join hand with the Ministry in order to accomplish further mappings of other parts of the South African country. He also revealed to Daniel Foote that his country has already made an association with China to work on geological mapping in the northern parts to ensure the emerging of best data that will boost the mining sector.

Musukwa also said that the detailed information obtained from the surveys would be packaged for the investors and other stakeholders.
