Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer on Tuesday hailed the YSRC government for ensuring inclusive and transparent governance, in his maiden address to the joint session of the state legislature.
In his speech ahead of the Budget session of fiscal 2023-24, Nazeer said almost four years have passed since the journey to fulfill the hopes of 5 crore people of the state had begun under Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“It is indeed heartening to share the way aspirations of the underprivileged, marginalised and vulnerable groups have been fulfilled through the implementation of several pro-poor initiatives,” said Nazeer.
The Governor noted that since this government was formed in 2019, it has embarked on an inclusive governance model under the broad welfare umbrella of Navaratnalu, a slew of welfare schemes. According to Nazeer, a former Supreme Court judge, the southern state has carved out a well-knit development and welfare framework under Navaratnalu. He said the government had adopted the concept of leaving no one behind, which is also in consonance with the global development agenda of sustainable development goals.
Later, Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram presided over a Business Advisory Committee meeting, which was attended by the Chief Minister, followed by a meeting with the Council of Ministers in the Secretariat, led by Reddy.
