The BJP emerged victorious in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, securing a majority with 32 candidates, including RWD Minister Honchung Ngandam and Tourism Minister Nakap Nalo, who clinched their respective seats. The counting of votes commenced at 6 AM on Sunday, as results poured in, marking a decisive win for the party.
Ngandam triumphed in the Ponchou-Wakka seat, defeating independent candidate Holai Wangsa with a margin of 4,662 votes, while Nalo secured the Nacho constituency against Congress' Tanga Byaling by 1,373 votes. Notable newcomers like Topin Ete also clinched victories, with Ete winning the Aalo West seat on a BJP ticket.
The BJP's achievement in Arunachal Pradesh signifies a strong comeback, marking their third consecutive term in power. As the votes for the remaining 50 seats continue to be counted, the saffron party has already claimed 10 seats uncontested, showcasing their stronghold in the region.
