Kejriwal's Spiritual Send-off Before Surrender

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal visited Raj Ghat and Hanuman Temple before surrendering at Tihar Jail. Accompanied by family and AAP leaders, he addressed party workers and expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for his interim bail. The Delhi BJP protested his actions.

In a dramatic turn of events, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place after paying homage at Raj Ghat on Sunday, ahead of his scheduled surrender at Tihar Jail. This marks a poignant moment in his political journey.

Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was seen accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal and key party leaders including Delhi ministers Atishi, Kailash Gahlot, and Saurabh Bharadwaj. Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak, as well as other prominent leaders, were also in attendance. Kejriwal was released on interim bail by the Supreme Court in connection to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam, to campaign during the Lok Sabha elections. However, as his bail term expired, he is set to return to prison.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal took to social media platform X, expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court for the temporary reprieve and outlined his day before surrendering. His day included paying respects at Raj Ghat, seeking blessings at the Hanuman Temple, and addressing party workers one last time before heading to Tihar Jail. Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP staged a protest against him at Raj Ghat, resulting in numerous detentions by the police.
