TDP and Allies Set to Form Government with Bumper Majority in Andhra Pradesh

Celebrations erupted at Telugu Desam Party (TDP) offices across Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday, reflecting a euphoric atmosphere as the party, alongside pre-poll allies Janasena and BJP, moves toward securing a bumper majority to govern the state.
According to the latest Election Commission data, TDP has already clinched victory in one assembly seat while leading in 130 segments. Janasena is leading in 19 and BJP in 7 segments.
The ruling YSR Congress is trailing, with leads in just 18 seats.
“It is history rewritten. We are getting a thumping majority in all the assembly segments in Guntur Parliamentary constituency,” Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, TDP candidate from the Guntur Lok Sabha seat, told reporters.
As part of a seat-sharing agreement among the NDA partners, TDP contested in 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies, while BJP fielded candidates in six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. Janasena contested two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats.
