At least 15 Muslim candidates are gaining momentum across various constituencies in the country during the Lok Sabha elections, with the TMC's Yusuf Pathan securing a decisive lead in Berhampore against Congress veteran Adhir Ranjan Choudhary.

This year saw 78 Muslim candidates contesting in the fray, with Congress' Imran Masood from Saharanpur leading by over 80,000 votes. Notably, Iqra Choudhary, a young 29-year-old from Kairana, is also ahead by more than 60,000 votes.

Incumbent MPs like Afzal Ansari from Ghazipur and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi from Hyderabad are also leading impressively, with Owaisi having a significant edge of over 3 lakh votes. Independent candidates Mohammad Haneefa Jan in Ladakh and Abdul Rashid Sheikh in Baramulla are showing strong performances, leading by substantial margins.
