Scindia Clinches Guna Victory with Record Margin

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia secured a landslide victory from the Guna Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh, defeating Congress candidate Yadvendra Rao Deshraj Singh by a margin of 5,40,929 votes. This win marks his first victory as a BJP candidate after switching parties in 2020.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia registered a significant political triumph on Tuesday, winning the Guna Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh by an impressive margin of 5,40,929 votes, as revealed by the Election Commission data. His opponent, Congress's Yadvendra Rao Deshraj Singh, received a total of 3,82,373 votes. This landslide victory marks Scindia's successful debut as a BJP candidate, a shift from his previous tenure as a Congress leader.

Scindia, presently serving as a Rajya Sabha member for the BJP, has a longstanding history with the Guna constituency. He represented Guna in the Lok Sabha as a Congress candidate in 2002, 2004, 2009, and 2014. However, he faced defeat in 2019 against BJP's K P Yadav. Following internal conflicts with the state Congress leadership, he transitioned to the BJP in March 2020.

Notably, the Guna Lok Sabha seat has historical significance for the Scindia family, previously represented by his grandmother, the late Vijayaraje Scindia, and his father, the late Madhavrao Scindia, adding an element of legacy to his latest victory.
