Shatrughan Sinha and Kirti Azad Secure Big Wins for TMC in Bengal
Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha won from the Asansol Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal, defeating BJP's S S Ahluwalia by 59,564 votes. TMC's Kirti Azad also emerged victorious in Bardhaman-Durgapur, defeating BJP's Dilip Ghosh by 1,37,981 votes. Sinha attributes his win to Mamata Banerjee.

In a remarkable victory, actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha clinched the Asansol Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal, reports the Election Commission of India (ECI). Sinha, representing the Trinamool Congress (TMC), triumphed over his closest rival, S S Ahluwalia of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), by a significant margin of 59,564 votes.
Similarly, TMC candidate and cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azad secured a resounding win in the Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha seat. Azad defeated BJP's Dilip Ghosh, former state BJP president, by 1,37,981 votes. Azad garnered a total of 7,20,667 votes, compared to Ghosh's 5,82,686 votes.
After his win, Sinha expressed gratitude to TMC leader Mamata Banerjee, crediting her for the win. 'This is Mamata Banerjee's win. I will try my best to address the issues in the constituency,' Sinha stated. He also contested the credibility of the exit polls, alleging they were fabricated to mislead voters.
