BJP candidate Arun Govil, iconic for portraying Lord Ram in the beloved TV serial Ramayana, clinched a decisive victory in the Meerut Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh. He defeated his nearest contender, Sunita Verma of the Samajwadi Party, by a margin of 10,585 votes.
Govil's win was sealed with a total of 5,46,469 votes cast in his favor. His main opposition, Sunita Verma, managed to garner 5,35,884 votes. Meanwhile, the BSP candidate, Devvrat Kumar Tyagi, secured 87,025 votes.
