The AIADMK has officially reiterated its decision to cut ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), senior leader D Jayakumar confirmed on Friday.
Despite S P Velumani's claims that the split was due to BJP state chief K Annamalai, Jayakumar stated that the AIADMK will face future elections independently.
Jayakumar emphasized that this stance was decided unanimously at party meetings and will continue beyond the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
