Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh, a pivotal figure of southern Haryana and esteemed representative of the Ahir community, has marked his sixth term as a Lok Sabha MP, now serving his third term under the BJP banner. His electoral success owes much to his unwavering support base among the Ahirs.

In the recent general election, Singh secured the Gurgaon seat by defeating his closest competitor, Raj Babbar of the Congress, by a sizable margin exceeding 75,000 votes.

Throughout his career, Singh has cultivated a reputation for being a forthright and no-nonsense leader. A former Congress member, Singh has also held the MP title for Mahendragarh, a constituency now merged into Bhiwani-Mahendragarh since 2009.

Diverse developmental strides, including the establishment of an AIIMS in Rewari, enhanced road infrastructure, and the creation of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, attribute to Singh's tenure.

Before his 2014 BJP alignment, Singh was a sitting MP from Gurgaon under the Congress banner. His parting from the nearly four-decade-old association with Congress stemmed from allegations of regional development bias against the UPA-led Centre.

Linked to Ahir leader Rao Tula Ram, Singh's roles under the Modi administration include Union Minister roles in Statistics & Programme Implementation, Planning, and Chemicals and Fertilisers, accompanied by past UPA tenures in External Affairs and Defence Production sectors.

An alumnus of Lawrence School, Sanawar, and law graduate, Singh's political journey features a four-term MLA representation of Haryana between 1977 and 2004. In his latest Gurgaon election campaign, Singh emphasized his local leadership and deep-rooted understanding of constituents' aspirations, reinforcing his commitment in a heartfelt speech.
