33 Fresh Faces Join Modi's New Cabinet

The third Modi government introduces 33 first-time ministers, including those from notable political families. New entrants include three former chief ministers and several prominent figures from powerful political lineages. This update marks significant shifts within the political landscape, highlighting the alliances and power dynamics shaping India's governance.

With the swearing-in of the third Modi government on Sunday, 33 fresh faces have been inducted into the cabinet, six of whom hail from renowned political families. Notably, three former chief ministers are among the new inductees: Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Madhya Pradesh, Manohar Lal Khattar of Haryana, and HD Kumaraswamy from Karnataka.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a five-time MP from Vidisha, has previously represented constituencies held by prominent leaders such as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Manohar Lal Khattar, an ex-RSS pracharak, resigned as Haryana's chief minister earlier this year. Meanwhile, former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy also joins as a first-time minister.

Among the new ministers, seven are from NDA allies, including TDP's K Rammohan Naidu, JDU's Lalan Singh, and RLD's Jayant Chaudhary. Jayant, grandson of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, moved to the NDA, securing significant victories in Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, Chirag Paswan, son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, and others from various states, have been inducted, showcasing a blend of experience and legacy in the new cabinet.
