Unity in Diversity: Modi's Historic Third Term Inauguration

People from across India gathered at Rashtrapati Bhavan for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third swearing-in ceremony. The event, marked by its diversity and grandeur, saw attendees from various states and backgrounds, including political figures, business tycoons, and the transgender community. Modi's inauguration reflects India's vibrant cultural mosaic.

From Uttarakhand to Karnataka and Gujarat to Nagaland, people from various corners of the country converged on the grand forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union council of ministers. The gathering brought with it the vibrancy and diversity emblematic of India.

Nearly 8,000 people packed the forecourt as Modi took his oath for a third consecutive term, equalling the historic achievement of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister, who led the nation in 1952, 1957, and 1962.

Braving the summer heat, guests began arriving as early as 5 p.m., with the sun still high above the dome of the iconic building. Among those present were notables such as Dr. Tejashree Patel, a former MLA from Gujarat, and Dr. Nirmala Wadhwani, an ex-minister for Women and Child Development in Gujarat.

Guests described the atmosphere as a 'mini-India,' highlighting the array of regional attire and languages that marked the event. From Assam's 'gamosa' to traditional 'galaband,' the sartorial diversity was on full display. Ministers took their oaths in Hindi or English, further showcasing the country's linguistic multiplicity.

The ceremony, attended by heads of state, seasoned politicians, debutants, business magnates, and celebrities, was a grand spectacle of India's unity in diversity. The presence of figures from various states, including Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, added to the event's inclusiveness.

The festive mood was heightened by the inclusion of the transgender community, represented by Sonam Kinnar and fifty others from the UP BJP unit. Attendees from various states fondly discussed Modi's tenure and the aspirations they hold for his third term.

The ceremony concluded with bugles, ceremonial guards, and flowers, as President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Modi and his council of ministers.
