Bulgaria's Pivotal Role in Strengthening India-EU Relations

Bulgaria’s geographic position serves as its trump card for fortifying India-EU ties, stated a senior Bulgarian parliamentarian and former foreign minister on Monday.

Kristian Vigenin, Deputy Chair of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and Chairman of the Bulgaria-India Friendship Group in the Bulgarian Parliament, is poised to become one of the new MEPs following this week's EU-wide elections.

Vigenin, who may soon serve as Vice-Speaker of Bulgaria’s National Assembly, aims to reinvigorate India-EU parliamentary cooperation hampered by the COVID pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
