DMK Accuses AIADMK and BJP of Politicizing Tragic Hooch Incident

The ruling DMK on Monday accused the main opposition AIADMK and BJP of attempting to 'politicize' the Kallakurichi hooch tragedy for political gain. Chief Minister MK Stalin and Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin are set to visit Kallakurichi, highlighting the government's steps in managing the crisis.

Addressing reporters, DMK organization secretary R S Bharathi outlined the government's stringent measures and criticized the AIADMK and BJP for their motives. Bharathi highlighted a one-man commission led by a retired judge, assuring that the truth would emerge amid reports linking BJP and AIADMK members to illicit arrack sales.

Bharathi slammed opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami for 'enacting a drama' by staging protests and demanding a CBI probe, accusing them of seeking political mileage from the tragedy. He also criticized the AIADMK and BJP for causing disruptions in the Assembly and sidetracking efforts to address the issue effectively.
