Chaos in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Amid Nursing College Scam Allegations

Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the Madhya Pradesh state budget for 2024-25 amidst chaos in the legislative assembly caused by opposition Congress members demanding the resignation of Minister Vishvas Sarang over a nursing college scam. The assembly proceedings were disrupted with members squatting on the floor, making the speech inaudible.

In a turbulent session on Wednesday, Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the state budget for the year 2024-25 amid uproar by the opposition Congress. The commotion was sparked by an alleged nursing college scam, leading to calls for Minister Vishvas Sarang's resignation.

The Central Bureau of Investigation is currently probing the alleged scam, which involves gross irregularities in the functioning of several nursing colleges, some of which reportedly existed only on paper. As the Legislative Assembly convened, opposition members, led by Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, demanded action against Sarang.

In spite of intervention and appeals for proper procedural conduct from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Legislative Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, opposition members persisted with their protests, making Finance Minister Jagdish Devda's budget speech virtually inaudible due to the noise.
