Labour Party leader Keir Starmer is poised to become the UK’s new prime minister, expressing heartfelt thanks to voters as exit polls predict a landslide win for his party. Speaking for the first time post-prediction, Starmer assured the nation they are 'ready for change' and to 'end the politics of performance.'

In his victory speech after securing a win in Holborn and St Pancras, Starmer, 61, pledged to serve every constituent, irrespective of their votes. The exit poll projects Labour could capture as many as 410 seats, comfortably surpassing the 326-seat threshold, thereby ending 14 years of Conservative rule.

As results rolled in, Labour claimed 184 seats while the Conservatives lagged with 32, Liberal Democrats with 23, Scottish National Party 3, and others 11. Starmer vowed to represent and advocate for the people daily, highlighting a collective readiness for genuine change.

Posing for selfies and mingling with supporters, Starmer declared, 'The change begins right here because this is your democracy, your community, your future.' He thanked all involved in the electoral process and his fellow candidates, emphasizing democracy's true heartbeat lies within local communities.

Starmer acknowledged his family's role in keeping him 'grounded,' calling his re-election a 'huge privilege.' His victory came with 18,884 votes, though his majority decreased from 22,766 in 2019 to 11,572. The election night was particularly grim for the Conservatives, with key figures like Defence Secretary Grant Shapps and Justice Secretary Alex Chalk losing their seats.

Meanwhile, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage entered parliament for the first time, gaining a Clacton seat. Suella Braverman, another prominent Conservative, retained her seat but apologized for the party's failings, candidly asserting, 'The Conservative Party has let you down.'
